Ángel Asensio
Pintor autodidacta, nace en Puig-reig, Cataluña, en 1972.
En 1996, estudia técnicas pictóricas en el centro cultural La Mercè de Girona.
En 1998, se titula en arquitectura técnica por la escuela de aparejadores y arquitectos técnicos de Barcelona.
La ciudad es la protagonista y también la materia de su obra. Descripciones hiperrealistas decaen en espacios inquietantes en los que se atisba la acción perturbadora del hombre. No obstante la niebla y la acritud de la ciudad industrial, la inclemencia de sus vías férreas y torres eléctricas, su pintura también ofrece un apunte humano y siempre una salida hacia un infinito más luminoso.
Ganador de diversos premios de pintura en Cataluña y Madrid ha realizado numerosas muestras individuales como en la Galería Tuset de arte contemporáneo de Barcelona (2009, 2011, 2013) y en la Galería Iturria de Cadaqués (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).

In 1996 he studied painting technique at Girona’s La Mercè community centre.
In 1998 he graduated from the Barcelona School of Associate Architecture.
The city is both lead player and subject matter in his oeuvre. Waning hyperrealist narratives in troubled spaces hint at human-induced disturbance. Despite its focus on the foggy, bitter presence of the industrial city with its grim railway tracks and high voltage towers, Asensio’s painting also contains a human touch and a window onto a more radiant infinity.
He has been awarded several prizes for his painting in Catalonia and Madrid and held a number of solo exhibitions at Barcelona’s Galería Tuset for Contemporary Art (2009, 2011, 2013) and Galería Iturria, Cadaqués (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).
