Ignacio Iturria
Nace en Montevideo Uruguay en 1949, hijo de un emigrante vasco y en 1977 se instala en Cadaqués.
En esta escueta reseña baste resaltar que en 1995 se convierte en el primer pintor galardonado de América Latina de la Bienal de Venecia y también su establecimiento en Cadaqués donde trabajó diez años.
En 2002 funda en Uruguay, “Casablanca, arte en acción” donde se tejen las relaciones entre la pintura, la música, la fotografía y los medios audiovisuales.
En abril del 2006 regresa a Cadaqués y en un vasto taller acoge la visita en residencia de pintores, discípulos y amigos que comparten temporadas de trabajo creativo junto al maestro en una verdadera colonia de artistas.
En 2012 se crea la Fundación Iturria para el desarrollo y promoción de jóvenes creadores en la que se plasma la visión nacida en la colonia de Cadaqués.

Born to a Basque immigrant at Montevideo, Uruguay in 1949, he moved to Cadaqués in 1977.
Suffice it to say in this brief sketch that in 1995 he was the first Latin American painter to be awarded a prize at the Venice Biennale and that he lived and worked at Cadaqués for 10 years.
In 2002 in his native Uruguay he founded ‘Casablanca, arte en acción’, a platform where painting, music, photography and audio-visual media meet and are interwoven.
In April 2006 he returned to Cadaqués where he founded an immense studio that hosts painters, disciples and friends as temporary residents in a genuine colony of artists who share their creative work alongside the maestro.
In 2012 he created Fundación Iturria in Montevideo, Uruguay, for the furtherance of young artists and the materialisation of the vision developed at the Cadaqués colony.
